Presentation SummaryThe Longevity Code™
Eight Habits of People with Extend Life Expectancy
(Audience: General Population)
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
The Longevity Code™ offers a new and exciting look at common themes in extended life expectancy in the U.S. population. It reflects the most recent findings from clinical medicine, psychology, and spirituality. The Longevity Code™ shows how these lifestyle choices not only enhance quality of life but also enhance longevity.
The Longevity Code™ has nine themes, which can be viewed as sectors of a life management portfolio. Research has shown that the more balanced the life management portfolio, the greater the odds of preserving quality of life and promoting longevity in a 24/7 world. The themes that will be covered in the presentation include:
1. Self-Directed Health Care What is “self-directed health care” and why is it the most important strategy for navigating the health care system in the United States?
2. The Gene Factor What role does our genetic code play in determining health? How do you overcome “bad” genes?
3. The Inflammation Factor Why are affluent countries like the United States suffering from an epidemic of inflammatory illnesses including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and depression? What strategies can help reverse this tide of disease and keep the immune system “user friendly?”
4. The Physical Activity Factor Why is physical activity the most important lifestyle choice for quality of life? What is the simplest and most effective way to increase physical activity?
5. The Weight Factor Why is obesity the number one threat to Baby Boomer’s quality of life and longevity? Why are most attempts to lose weight doomed from the start?
6. The Smoking Factor What is the secret benefit of smoking? What is the secret of quitting?
7. The Attitude Factor What are the five things in life we cannot change? Why is attitude the critical factor in managing them?
8. The Relationship Factor In a 24/7 world, why are social networks critical to preserving quality of life? What networks are most effective?
9. The Spiritual Factor What are the three habits of spiritually connected people that preserve quality of life?
