Caregiver’s resilience is a mind set that guides action, an oath to meet failure and keep going, to rise above the unfairness of it all.
The last stanza of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem “A Psalm of Life” is an anthem to this resilience we so admire in all those who step up to do this work day after day:
From A Psalm of Life
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Let us be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate,
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.
