Moving In…

When an aging parent moves in, no one can predict how it will work out.  What looks good in the beginning can come  undone in sudden and distressing ways.

Adult children need to frame moving in as “one step” in the journey to preserve control.  While no one can predict the future, one thing is certain.  More help to sustain this arrangement be needed at some point.  

Thankfully, help comes in many forms depending on circumstances and resources.  Emphasize that the goal is to fund options that preserve both control and quality 0f life for both generations…

I wish my parent’s doctors would read this book! Everyone who deals with those over 70 should read it. We teach early childhood education, but why is there no education in how to deal with those in the last part of their lives, so they feel respected. This guy is great.
