Every Mother’s Day I think about my mom’s dream. She longed for a big house on a lake filled with children and the buzz of life, friends dropping in unannounced, and laughter, lots and lots of laughter. Was not to be. Her life was dealt from a different deck.
Unabashed, she took it as it came with profound courage and loyalty in the face of losses and heartache. Above all, she instilled in me a kind heart the would not turn a blind eye to suffering. It saved my life.
In the end, she gave me her dream, the floor plans for a safe home with flourishing children, the buzz of family life, and contagious laughter, lots of laughter. I’m leaving she said. It’s your turn.
Happy Mother’s Day mom…I got it from here
