Childhood Matters

The residue of childhood carries with it complex feelings about aging parents that limit objectivity, exaggerate responsibilities and increase emotional vulnerability.

This distorted landscape makes it impossible to receive the approval adult children desperately seek from their aging parents in their efforts to do the right thing.

Checkmate this zero-sum game with a transformative intention.  Give yourself permission to do the best you can  do today with what you have.  No more.  No less.  Allow the rest to take care of itself.

I wish my parent’s doctors would read this book! Everyone who deals with those over 70 should read it. We teach early childhood education, but why is there no education in how to deal with those in the last part of their lives, so they feel respected. This guy is great.
